The charming old Montenegrin city of Kotor is an easy day trip from Budva – take a local bus and be there within half an hour. In an afternoon, there is just enough time to wander around the old town, before steadily climbing up a seemingly never-ending staircase to the ruined fortress on the hill. Allow at least two hours for the return journey, bring plenty of water and prepare to soak in spectacular views over the Adriatic Sea. Back in town, dine on seafood pasta and drink wine until the sun goes down. Here are a few snapshots to get that inspiration buzzing!
Have you been to Kotor? What would you recommend doing with a little more time?
Such lovely old buildings and beautiful views!

Isn’t it beautiful? I just love imagining a time when the fortress was in full form, towering over the town! Such a majestic location!
