There are no shortages of holiday destinations on the South Coast of New South Wales and Narooma is a perfect example! Here, you will find long sandy beaches, great surf, boats galore and plenty of marine life. It is very easy to relax – you may even find yourself sticking around for longer.
Snorkel with Seals
Start the day by snorkelling with seals on Montague Island. There are a number of boat tour companies that will take you out to this special island, just off the coast. All snorkel gear and wetsuits are provided, including a light morning tea. You will get to snorkel with Australian and New Zealand Fur Seals, who will literally come up and play with you in the water! We were lucky enough to see seal pups too!
Feast on Fish and Chips
Returning by lunch, head down to Surf beach Cafe for a feast of Fish and Chips and traditional lemonade. Later, you might want to go for a surf or laze around on the beach. I’d recommend taking a beach umbrella as the Aussie sun can get very hot!
Climb Into Australia Rock
Later in the afternoon, check out Australia Rock, an natural rock formation shaped exactly like Australia! You can even climb up into it and get the perfect tourist photo!
Explore the Rock Pools
Right near Australia Rock, you will find loads of rock pools, full of crabs, octopus and other interesting sea life. Walk along a bit further and you will be sure to see some more wild seals, either in the water or lazing about in the sun.
Enjoy Dinner and Live Music
There are a number of good eating places – Narooma Quarterdeck is known for delicious seafood, cocktails and pumping tunes! Alternatively, Club Muzo hosts open mic nights at the start of each month and you can order a traditional pub meal while you sit back and enjoy the local talent!
