IMG_0985Hi there!

My name is Jenny.  Born on a cattle property in south-east Queensland, my parents relocated to Tasmania when I was a small child.  It was a bit too cold for everyone, so we finally settled in New South Wales on a four-acre block of land, complete with dogs, chickens, ducks, horses and a Jersey cow. After high school, I spent a year working in the country town of Dorrigo, with the rainforest in our backyard.

Since then, I have studied and worked all over Australia, including Canberra, Perth, Albany, Broome, Melbourne, Atherton and the Bega Valley. I have always had itchy feet, ready to explore at every opportunity. I am a teacher and a musician and love to capture moments in the songs I write. Passionate about different cultures, history, art and creativity, my travels have taken me around Europe, through South-east Asia and, of course, my home country, Australia.

A few years ago, I travelled up the east coast of Australia in a home-made campervan, which is when I decided to start this blog. I love documenting my travels almost as much as I enjoy being on the road.

Currently based in Berlin, Germany, I look forward to sharing more adventures with you as this journey unfolds!

  1. What an interesting blog! I was born in South Africa and traveled through Europe for the first time when I was 20. I can relate to so much of what you said about experiencing life in countries that are so old, with so much history, compared to the places we grew up in. I moved to Australia last year, did a road trip through NSW recently with a friend, and am looking forward to exploring more of this beautiful country.

    1. I’m glad you are enjoying the blog! I’m sure you are going to love exploring more of Australia – it’s not the same as Europe but it is equally as special, with its huge variety of beautiful landscapes – I have a few more Australia posts coming soon, which you should be interested in reading. I would love to visit South Africa at some stage too! Thanks for dropping by 🙂
